Construction on BUSP's Braddehanna properties will begin this spring.
These new single family detached homes feature three bedrooms, two and one half bathrooms, living and dining room, eat in kitchen, a full basement, detached garage and patio. Homes are expected to sell for approximately $130k and subsidies will be available for those who qualify.
BUSP was awarded $1.4 million to assist in the completion of the Braddehanna Project for 30 new and refurbished homes in Homewood.
In August of 2003, BUSP purchased 45 units from HUD, located on Susquehanna and Braddock Avenues in the Homewood-Brushton area of the City of Pittsburgh. In the spring of 2005, the properties, known as Braddehanna were demolished. BUSP will construct 20 single family homes to replace them. The homes will stand across the street from the new state-of-the-art Helen S. Faison Arts Academy.
